Sitting firmly in Panasonic's entry level collection of flat screens, this product is good value and is still not compromising on quality, enabling it to vie with many models which are significantly more dear.

Firstly, it is important to dispel some of the myths which you will hear from sales people when it comes to flat screen tvs like TX-P42X10. While of course you want something that is future proof as possible, and something that will play high definition video these days, you do not need something that is full high definition.

This TX-P42X10 screen is not full HD, meaning that while you can play any content currently on the market at the moment, you will not have play back in full 1080p. The reality of the matter is though, that this is not necessarily a problem. While this is a large screen, with a diagonal viewing area of 42 inches, few people even notice a great deal of difference in resolution.

It is also important to realise the resolution is not the only thing which governs the quality of playback on TVs such as the TX-P42X10. Many people make this mistake of thinking that the resolution is the only thing that is important, especially when it comes to TV screens and digital cameras etc.

However, this set does have a shortcoming although, it is not actually really a shortcoming when you consider the price that asking for it. Considering you can pick up the TX-P42X10 for around 600 pounds, you get a lot for your money or not to mention just a plain 42 inch screen.

Another thing that might put people off the TX-P42X10 screen is the fact that it is plasma rather than LCD. However, plasma TVs actually have a number of advantages over traditional LCD screens, most notably the fact that the viewing angle issue is not found in plasma screens.

You will definitely come across sales people who tell you that it must be 1080p (full HD) otherwise is not even worth considering, but you should see the quality of the TX-P42X10 for yourself and you will find that this will be far more convincing than anything some salesperson tells you.

The Panasonic Viera TX-P42X10 comes with decent stereo speakers built in and a FreeView tuner. However, it is strongly advisable to buy a separate set of speakers such as a 5. 1 surround sound set since they don't cost a lot extra and half with the experience of watching the movie is having great sound as well.

All the features that you normally will need are built into the Panasonic Viera TX-P42X10 including the possibility to connect your computer and a number of other accessories and peripherals. The TX-P42X10 does not come with anything fancy, but then for the asking price of around 600 pounds, you can't complain.
